Barton Community College invites the public to participate in a series of free computer and digital literacy classes offered throughout October, including two new courses through a partnership with Nex-Tech Wireless.
All classes are no-cost, no-registration workshops designed to help community members build essential technology skills for personal use, school, or work.
Upcoming classes include:
Android Phone Basics
Oct. 2, 6 to 8 p.m., Front Door – City of Great Bend
Learn how to use your Android phone more effectively and to meet your needs. Offered in partnership with the professionals from Nex-Tech Wireless.
Creating and Formatting Documents with Confidence
Oct. 7, 6 to 8 p.m., Front Door – City of Great Bend
Build your Microsoft Word skills by learning how to create, format, save, and print documents.
Essentials of Photo Editing
Oct. 20, 6 to 9 p.m., Barton Community College, Technical Building T-171A
Learn how to edit photos using state-of-the-art software and equipment. Participants can bring their own photos to practice editing during the class.
Keyboarding Basics: Building speed and accuracy with Confidence
Oct. 23, 6 to 8 p.m., Great Bend Public Library
This hands-on course introduces you to essential keyboarding skills. Learn proper finger placement, posture, and techniques to improve your typing speed and accuracy.
Nex-Tech Academy – Password and Phishing 101
Oct. 25, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Front Door – City of Great Bend
This class will cover information on passwords, phishing, and general computer safety.
Barton is offering these opportunities in partnership with the Digital Opportunities to Connect Kansas grant, aiming to improve digital access and confidence for all Kansans.
