The public is invited to observe a Vocal Masterclass forum from 3:10 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 27 in the Dorothy Moses Morrison Chapel in the Fine Arts Building at Barton Community College. The forum is open to the public.
Barton students and area high school students will perform and then receive vocal training and advice in a forum setting from Kansas State University Voice Instructor Dr. Bryan Pinkall, who will work with students throughout the day while audience members will have the opportunity to observe the techniques and methods he uses.
Pinkall performs and records with several ensembles and is an active soloist and operatic tenor. He is a member of the Kansas City Chorale, the Simon Carrington Chamber Singers and Te Deum Antiqua. He performs across the United States as a soloist in many early music and baroque ensembles and has performed leading roles in operas such as “Carmen,” “Le nozze di Figaro,” “Die Fledermaus” and “Don Giovanni.”
The following Barton students and personnel will be participating: Rose Radenberg of Claflin, Erin Renard of Russell, Hannah Maddy of Great Bend, Chantell McReynold of Great Bend, and Randyll Smith of Russell.
Area high school and middle school students participating are: Allison Muth of Great Bend, Sarah Keller of Great Bend, Aubrey Maneth of Great Bend, Hadley Murphy of Great Bend, Liz Frakes of Ellinwood, Ashlyn Prescott of Great Bend, and Katherine Snapp of Great Bend Middle School.
