The Beta Phi Eta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa from Barton Community College at Fort Leavenworth held a successful food and needs drive to support the Leavenworth Mission Community Store and Food Bank in May.
This was the second drive the chapter has held in 2015. The most recent drive ran from May 11-May 21 and volunteers were able to collect 382 items. This surpasses the amount from the previous drive by about 65 percent.
The chapter would like to thank the following volunteers: Kim Dutill, Julie Henderson, Raegan Cross, Diane Stone, Amanda Confer, Nick Worley, Casey Divito, Cynthia Rogers and Alexis Miller. They would also like to thank Barton’s Director of Learning Services Lee Miller and PTK Advisors Amy Neidig and Melissa Carolus for their support. The group hopes to continue to raise awareness for the drives and to build support from students, faculty and the community during drives to be held this fall.
