Editors Jamie Oss and Teresa Johnson of Barton Community College’s annual literary publication, Prairie Ink, have begun accepting entries for its eighth edition. 

The aim of the publication is to provide a venue for local authors to showcase their creative writing talents.

Barton Community College has named 206 students to the President’s List for the fall 2016 semester.  To qualify for this honor, students must have been enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours and maintained a grade point average of 4.0 on a 4.0 or "A" letter scale.

Barton Community College students named to Dean’s List for fall 2016

Barton Community College has named 252 students to the Dean’s List for the fall 2016 semester.  To qualify for this honor, students must have been enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours and maintained a grade point average of 3.5 to 3.99 on a 4.0 or "A" letter scale.

Barton Community College’s Sexual Misconduct & Assault Resources Team (SMART) will be hosting expert campus safety speaker Katie Koestner, who will present three sessions at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 7 p.m. on Feb. 2 at Barton Community College. The morning sessions will take place in the Fine Arts Auditorium with the evening session in the Barton Gymnasium.

Barton Community College will help area high school juniors plan for their futures at Junior Day, starting at 9 a.m. Feb. 15, with a sign-up deadline of Feb. 1. Those interested can sign up at juniorday.bartonccc.edu.

Junior Day will feature campus tours, info sessions with admissions, observation of the college classroom setting in two areas of interest and two scholarship drawings for three-credit-hour face-to-face classes with books included.

Barton Theatre will hold open auditions for its spring production “The Servant of Two Masters” from 4-8 p.m. January 23 and 24 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Those interested in auditioning may come on either night during the allotted times and do not need to prepare any pieces. The Theatre Department will be casting all roles and all technical positions.
