Barton is making college more affordable for two lucky winners during its “Apply Now!” scholarship giveaway. Any Kansas high school senior who fills out an application by May 1 is eligible to win one of two $500 scholarships. Students can fill out an application at apply.bartonccc.edu.
Director of Admissions Tana Cooper said the scholarship is a way to show students that we are here for them.

This is part four of a six-part series on the importance of academic integrity at Barton. The college will feature six student stories throughout the spring semester that help showcase the virtues of academic integrity. These virtues include trust, responsibility, honesty, courage, fairness, and respect.

Barton Community College will be closed on Friday, April 2 and Monday, April 5 for Easter break. Barton's Center for Adult Education and the Shafer Art Gallery will also be closed. The college's regular class schedule and office hours will resume Tuesday, April 6.

Those seeking a credential as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) have the chance to enroll in a course at no charge thanks to a generous anonymous donor and a collaboration between Barton Community College, Ellsworth County Medical Center (ECMC) and Good Samaritan Retirement Center.
The two 2021 CNA classes are set for June 7-23 and July 6-22. The classes are 90 hours in length and held over two weeks. Presentations will be held at ECMC and clinical experiences at the Good Samaritan Retirement Center in Ellsworth.

The Barton Performing Arts Department would like to invite high school seniors with an interest in dance, instrumental music, theatre and vocal music to apply and audition for 2021-2022 Performance Awards, Major Scholarships and performance ensembles via virtual auditions from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 10. Students can register at auditions.bartonccc.edu and registration for future dates will be opened closer to each respective date.
Potential students will have an opportunity to gear up for the fall semester during Barton’s popular “Enrollment Day” sessions, which start on April 20 and will continue throughout the summer. Students can call (620) 792-9286 or visit enroll.bartonccc.edu to sign up or for more information. Registration opens on April 1. The Barton Community College Foundation aims to enhance the Barton student experience with its 11th Annual Sporting Clay Shoot fundraiser from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Sunday, April 18 at Camp Aldrich, 884 NE 110 Ave. in Claflin. The money raised is used for mini-grants for Barton faculty members to purchase items for their classrooms to enhance student learning experiences. The foundation has awarded about $100,000 in mini-grants to date.
