Anyone looking to start a career after high school or switch careers will find a myriad of opportunities at the Education and Employment Expo hosted by Barton Community College from 3-7 p.m. March 3. The Barton Dance Theatre will host its “Animal Creative Camp” fundraiser from 2-5 p.m., Feb. 16 in the Kirkman Gymnasium at Barton Community College. Children ages 4-10 will enjoy activities with the Barton Dance Theatre dancers. They will learn a dance, make an animal craft, act out a story and participate in a playful tumbling class. The time will conclude with a short family-friendly movie. Cost per child is $20 and $10 per each additional sibling (all camp supplies included in cost).

Sophomore Toni Reese of Hoisington is no stranger to adversity. She was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) at the age of 13. She is the daughter of a single mother who was in the Navy through much of her childhood. However, she hasn’t let any of that get in the way of following her dream of becoming a private investigator.

Barton Community College’s annual literary publication, Prairie Ink, has begun accepting entries for its 11th edition.
Editor Scott McDonald said the aim of the publication is to provide a venue for local authors to showcase their creative writing talents.
The editors are looking for the following types of original work to be considered for publication: fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, drama, and graphic short stories. They will be accepting submissions until April 1, 2020.

Barton Community College will host a blood drive from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14 in the Technical Building in room T-186, the Case New Holland Training area.

Barton Community College has named 239 students to the President’s List for the fall 2019 semester. To qualify for this honor, students must have been enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours and maintained a grade point average of 4.0 on a 4.0 or "A" letter scale.
