When Kate Hanlen went on a mission trip to Honduras at the age of 19, she didn’t know she would discover her career calling that would be over 40 years in the making.
The Shafer Gallery held an opening reception for the BaRTaRT Faculty Student and Staff Exhibition on April 8 and awards were given to Barton students participating in the student art competition.
Barton Community College will host a Student Recital at 4 p.m. May 4 in the Dorothy Moses Morrison Chapel in the Fine Arts Building.

With technology controlling almost every aspect of our lives, it’s no surprise that the field of cyber security is growing quickly and Barton has responded to this trend by introducing its Cyber Security Program, which has started enrolling students for the fall 2022 semester and is available fully online.
As of April 12, the Drought Monitor map is essentially unchanged. Eastern Barton County is in extreme drought with the rest in severe status as is most of our surrounding area.
