Barton Community College’s annual literary publication, “Prairie Ink”, has begun accepting entries for its 15th edition.

Maddy Hayden-Rideaux is the head coach of the Great Bend High School Dance Team, and she owns Be Dance Studios in downtown Great Bend. She’s truly living her dreams and built a large part of her dancing foundation right in her hometown at Barton Community College.

Barton Community College will help area high school seniors plan for their futures at Senior Day, starting at 9 a.m. Nov. 8, with a sign-up deadline of Nov. 1.

The Barton Community College Board of Trustees approved the timeline for the upcoming presidential search during the board meeting Sept. 26. This follows the retirement announcement from President Dr. Carl Heilman during the College’s Board of Trustees September study session.

Barton Community College has teamed up with the CKP Suicide Prevention Task Force to bring author, actor, and international public speaker Josh Rivedal to the Barton County campus to entertain and educate about the importance of mental health and wellbeing.

Barton Community College will host a blood drive from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 5 in the Kirkman Practice Gym. Donors will receive a $15 amazon gift card.

The Barton Performing Arts Department will host its annual “Autumn Arts” sneak preview concert at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 5 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.
