The drought monitor report as of Tuesday, August 2, indicates he same conditions as we continue to see severe and extreme drought.  The recent rains helped the extreme western counties a bit. 

The Barton Community College Foundation Board has chosen to recognize Brad and Sarah Shirer with the “Old Bill Honorarium” at its 43rd Annual Big Benefit Auction, which is set for 6 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Great Bend Columbus Club and is themed “Boots and Brews.”

The drought monitor report as of Tuesday, July 19 indicates worsening conditions our area as we continue in moderate drought, although the northeast tip of the county is still abnormally dry.

Barton Community College and Pratt Community College (PCC) have teamed up to provide Nursing education for students in Pratt and the surrounding area and will celebrate their partnership with a come-and-go reception Aug. 4 from 9-10:30 a.m. on the PCC Campus in Chandler Hall, which will feature light refreshments, a signing ceremony and short comments from college representatives from both schools.

Barton Community College at Fort Riley student Avrey Thoman was recently awarded the $500 “Stay the Course” grant from educational resource company John Wiley and Sons, Inc.

Barton Community College has announced its list of graduates who earned associate degrees or certificates for career training during the spring semester of 2022.
