Barton Community College and the Center for Adult Education will be closed and there will be no classes in observance of Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 5. Offices will reopen and classes will resume on Sept. 6.

In 2021 Barton shifted to the Noel Levitz (NL) survey tool from the former CCSSE tool due to the customizable features. We will conduct surveys every other year.

Creativity can happen at any age and members of Barton’s Dancing for Mobility class will showcase that during a performance titled “Love Letters in Motion,” at 7 p.m. Sept. 8 in the Shafer Gallery, which will include uplifting music, live artwork and an interactive portion for the audience. Retired WNBA Basketball legend Jackie Stiles will speak at Barton Community College at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 29 in the Fine Arts Auditorium to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Title IX. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

The Barton Library’s Cohen Center for Kansas History holds a wealth of preserved historical documents, books, as well as other resources and is celebrating a grand reopening ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 9 in the Barton Library located in the center of campus.
The Barton Community College Theatre Department will hold auditions for its fall production of the bone-chilling thriller “The Thin Place,” by Lucas Hnath August 24-26 from 5-9 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium.
